Note : There has been a surge of interest recently in Out-of-Time-Order Correlation (OTOC) function and its applications in various fields, especially quantum chaos.  OTOC  was actually introduced in my PhD thesis within the field of quantum chaos to characterize sensitivity to small perturbation in quantum systems. You can find it in my PhD thesis published in 2013 and also in this PRE paper published in 2014. We did not call it OTOC and we are rarely given the credit for it.
